Our client is a reputable financial services firm who is currently looking for a Regional Legal and Compliance Counsel to be based in Hong Kong, reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance, APAC. You will be collaborating closely with your wider team across the region on risk, governance and regulatory related matters.
Responsibilities
- Be the 'go-to' person with the regulators
- Identify, review and implement relevant policies, procedures and controls to provide advice to the business
- Managing regulatory filings and notifications such as authorisation and licensing of the business' entities
- Provide advice on a wide range of legal matters including but not limited to employment, real estate, insurance, litigation, and other corporate activities
- Conducting risk assessments, periodic monitoring, investigation into compliance, ethics and legal issues
- Coordinate with external counsels on complex legal issues
Requirements
- Admitted to practice in a common law jurisdiction
- At least 5+ PQE in a law firm, in-house role or a compliance function
- Experience on drafting, reviewing and handling contract reviews in Mandarin/ Cantonese
- Knowledgeable on compliance/ regulatory matters
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team with excellent organisational skills
