Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing Managing General Agency (MGA) expanding across the US and specialising in risk solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our team and lead our finance department. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the financial operations. This position reports directly into the CEO.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to facilitate informed decision-making by the executive team.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and executive leadership. Monitor financial performance against budgetary targets and provide variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement best practices for financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives. Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial transactions.
Audit Coordination: Coordinate external audits and examinations by regulatory agencies. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and ensure timely completion of audit procedures.
Team Leadership: Grow a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support to help team members achieve their goals and excel in their roles.
