Agency Controller

Summary
A fast-growing insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Agency Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all accounting functions. This role will lead reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and internal controls, and serve as a key partner to leadership in driving operational and financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes in compliance with US GAAP
Oversee accounts receivable and payable, including commissions, vendor payments, and deposits
Manage payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments with parent company
Develop and manage the annual budgeting process; monitor and analyze budget variances
Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure financial integrity and risk mitigation
Ensure financial compliance and support external audits in partnership with the parent company
Oversee cash flow and treasury activities, including liquidity monitoring and working capital optimization
Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5-10 years of insurance industry accounting experience, preferably in P&C
Proficiency with Applied EPIC required
Experience in high-growth, fast-paced, metrics-driven environments
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Proven accountability, adaptability, and leadership in process improvement
