Job Title: Accounting Operations Manager

Position Overview: As an Accounting Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, month-end reconciliations approvals, monitoring internal controls, and managing premium operations systems. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions while adhering to regulatory compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle and a proven track record of success in managing accounting operations within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Lead month-end reconciliations approvals process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Monitor internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimize efficiencies in premium operations systems.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Partner with the Director of Finance to develop and implement strategic initiatives to support the company's growth objectives.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for management review, offering insights and recommendations for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting operations, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle or similar accounting software platforms.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and regulatory requirements for insurance companies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
