You are required to support ongoing strategic projects and delivering operational process improvement, system controls and change management within Finance. Another key aspect of the role is to develop a strong understanding of broader system architecture (including POS systems), interfaces and data flows.
Responsibilities:
- Understand broader systems architecture with links to SAP (includes interfaces, batch processes and data flows) and advise finance users on related matters
- Comprehensive understanding of POS system end to end including interfaces into SAP - provide backup support for primary system administrators
- Review and maintain financial systems policies, procedures and process mapping
- Design, implement and maintain effective financial/system controls (preventative and detective) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality assurance over financial data
- Maintenance of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures from a finance systems perspective
- Support system integrations of new company acquisitions and mergers
- Drive the integration and implementation of new systems including ERP, planning and BI systems
- Manage system upgrades and delivery schedules with the IT department
- Troubleshoot and resolve finance related system issues
- Evaluate system performance and implement improvements
- Configure specific range of SAP system settings to meet business needs (e.g. new reports, new cost centres, etc)
- Train and support finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures
- Leverage business intelligence and data transformation software to enhance and streamline processes
- Collaborate with IT and finance staff to meet business requirements
- Other ad hoc projects as required by Senior Management team
Skills:
- Experience and knowledge of accounting systems including systems development
- Experience of working on a change or upgrade of an ERP system
- Experience working in project and BAU environments
- Advanced IT software skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office and BI applications,
- Strong team player, yet comfortable to work autonomously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and influencing senior stakeholders
