Job Title: Senior Investment Accountant

We are currently collaborating with a prominent Life and Health insurance company to find a highly skilled and motivated Senior Investment Accountant to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview: As a Senior Investment Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the investment accounting functions for our client's Life and Health insurance company. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis of investment portfolios, compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing investment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review investment accounting reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Portfolio Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of investment portfolios, monitoring investment performance, assessing risk exposures, and identifying opportunities for optimization.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards, including GAAP, STAT, and Solvency II reporting.
Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of investment transactions, cash flows, and valuation discrepancies to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Financial Planning: Assist in financial planning and forecasting activities related to investment portfolios, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline investment accounting processes, implement best practices, and enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment managers, finance teams, and external auditors, to provide timely and accurate financial information and address inquiries or concerns.
Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned, such as system implementations, process enhancements, or regulatory updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment accounting within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of investment products, including fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, STAT, etc.).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform detailed portfolio analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with investment accounting software (e.g., Investran, SimCorp, PAM).
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
