Senior Data Analyst
Oliver James have been appointed to recruit for a Senior Business Data Analyst for a Financial Services organisation to join their Data Platform Delivery Team to liaise with stakeholders in finding problems and coming up with solutions to work with the engineers and architects in designing a solution.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business users of data and the data engineering team to establish requirements for the data platform
- Ensure data is documented and data governance principles are applied to data usage and access, and ensure data risks are identified and mitigated
- Work with the business users to analyse and resolve data requests and issues, ensuring the data is well understood and used for appropriate purposes across the business
- Provide insight in the application of best data practices in managing data in the data platform and use of data
- Support strategic data projects
Skills & Experience:
- Understanding and experience of cloud data platform components
- Understanding of data quality and data governance
- Experience working in financial services, specifically in Banking or Investment Management with good understanding of financial instruments (the difference between bonds and equity)
- The ability to profile data and understand the structure of source files (e.g. key value pairs, extended header records, JSON, XML, etc)
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently across priorities and to project deadline
- The ability to model data and align it to a logical data model
