Oliver James Dublin is representing a global Reinsurer in their focus to appoint a Senior Consolidation Valuation Actuary for their Life & Health team based in Dublin.

The consolidation team provides the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of valuation and actuarial corporate topics. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the regulatory reporting of the group entities, the group VIF reporting, as well as the enhancement of the consolidation framework (including controls and documentation)

Your responsibilities will include assisting in the following:

  • Quarterly consolidating and analysis of Solvency II reporting. This will include the BEL and SCR production, the ORSA, the support to the RSR and SFCR
  • VIF reporting for the EMELA/APAC portfolio
  • Coordination of the related SOX controls
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of the aggregation model and extend model capabilities to automate production for other local jurisdictions
  • Develop and enforce best practices for the Reporting production and documentation
  • Ensure a robust control framework by automation of validations
  • Review existing process and improve operational efficiency of reporting
  • Contribute to various cross-functional projects, topics and responsibilities across the team including IFRS 17, LDTI, tool development among others

About you

Working experience

  • University degree in relevant field (Actuarial, Statistics, Engineering)
  • Qualified actuary with at least 4 years of (re)insurance industry life reserving experience
  • Detailed knowledge of one or more reporting or solvency regimes or standards (Solvency II, MAS, RBC, ...)

Technical skills

  • Deep understanding of the Solvency II framework
  • US GAAP IFRS 17 experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of MoSes/Risk Agility FM/AXIS; Visual Basic, R
  • Experienced in testing of actuarial software
  • Reinsurance knowledge is an asset

  • Organized, able to work in a matrix structure
  • Able to set and manage priorities
  • Highly cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic team-player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
