A leading global re-insurer is looking to add a Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to its expanding Chicago team. This is a high-impact position supporting pricing and portfolio analytics for US and Latin American reinsurance business. The role offers close collaboration with underwriting, research, and modelling teams across international offices.

We're looking for a skilled catastrophe modeller with strong technical capabilities and relationship-building skills to help assess risk and profitability across a North American Property Cat reinsurance portfolio. You'll work closely with underwriters and actuarial pricing teams in the US and globally, playing a key role in treaty pricing and reinsurance renewals.

Your primary responsibility is to price property catastrophe treaties by integrating modelled outputs, historical losses, account characteristics, and market knowledge to develop profitability estimates. This is a collaborative process with underwriters to ensure a consistent, portfolio-level view of risk.

You'll also lead and support strategic initiatives to refine risk views for natural catastrophe perils, including research into climate change, economic trends, and other emerging topics, working cross-functionally with Cat R&D, pricing, business analytics, and other teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with underwriters & provide catastrophe modelling support for pricing and portfolio analysis.

  • Lead Nat Cat projects, including model evaluation and sensitivity testing & tool development.

  • Analyze hazard and model behavior to develop internal risk views.

  • Mentor junior staff and act as a subject matter expert on US natural perils.

  • Engage in client meetings to drive innovation and offer structural insights.
