Oliver James has partnered up with an Irish payments company that focuses on providing innovative software solutions to the banking industry. As well as providing a range of services across mobile banking applications my client's overall goal is to improve efficiency and customer experience within financial institutions. My client is looking for a Senior API Developer to join the team and report directly to the Head of Development.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Work directly with the Product Management & Development teams to convey customer input, helping to improve our API's functionality and deployment over time.

- Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to the API Framework or API interface, as necessary adhering to the specified escalation process.

- You'll instruct programmers on how to use this technology more successfully by utilizing your superior communication and API development knowledge.

Requirements:

- Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, plus 5 years of experience in an enterprise software develpment environment.

- IN-Dept knowledge of REST API software development methodologies and application architectures, gateways, tools, and techniques for large-scale deployments, ideally in a fintech environment.

- Experience of the Spring boot framework.

- Experience working with Identity management and authorization standards and solutions such as OAuth 2, Open ID Connect, JSON web tokens.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into understandable terms for non-technical clients.

- Experience in the banking/finance sector is a bonus.

- Knowledge of how to effectively communicate with people at all organizational levels, especially with upper level executives.
