Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare the monthly balance sheets and summary of operations as requested for U.S. Statutory reporting.
- Coordinate and prepare U.S. Statutory Annual Statements (Blue Book) and Statutory audited financial statements.
- Analyze monthly, quarterly and annual U.S. Statutory financial results.
- Process intermediate to complex accounting transactions in general ledger system.
- Collect and analyze data from outside of department, including Third Party Administrators.
- Responsible for monitoring state annual financial filing requirements and for the preparation of all additional financial compliance reports (i.e., Quarterly Statements, reports required by individual states, etc.).
- Assist the Director, Financial Reporting in facilitating the U.S. Statutory audit process with internal and external auditors and state examiners.
- Perform intermediate to advanced research to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist the Head of Financial Reporting in reducing the close as related to USA STAT to align with public company standards.
- May assist or review work of other accountants.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3-5 years accounting or finance experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and deadline adherence
- General insurance or financial services experience
