Director of SEC Reporting - P&C Insurance (Remote)
Company Overview:
A leading Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance company, is on the verge of an exciting milestone as it prepares for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2024. As we embark on this transformative journey, my client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their dynamic team as the Director of SEC Reporting.
Position Overview:
As the Director of SEC Reporting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) while providing leadership in the preparation for our upcoming IPO. This position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to contribute to the success of a growing company, all while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting Leadership:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Lead the coordination and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Finance, Legal, and external auditors, to gather necessary information for SEC filings.
IPO Readiness:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure the organization's financial statements meet IPO standards and provide necessary support for due diligence processes.
- Drive the implementation of effective internal controls and processes to enhance financial reporting capabilities.
Technical Accounting Expertise:
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes, providing guidance on the impact of new pronouncements on financial reporting.
- Conduct research on technical accounting issues and assess the implications on financial statements.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CFO, CAO, and other key stakeholders to communicate financial results, discuss accounting issues, and provide insights into financial performance.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in SEC Reporting, preferably with a background at a Big 4 Accounting Firm or within the SEC Reporting function of a P&C Insurance company.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in leading SEC filings, including IPO preparations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Compensation:
- Base salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year.
- Potential for an equity component as part of the compensation package.
