Oliver James has been partnered exclusively with a highly reputable commercial lines carrier specializing in the small to middle market business space.
The role:
At this time, they are looking to engage with experienced underwriters who are interested in transitioning into a Programs Management/Underwriting role. The successful Underwriter will work closely with both the internal Underwriting team as well as external Program Administrators/MGAs and agents. This is a hybrid position that will require you to be in office 3 days a week in any of the firm's Northeast locations.
As a Program Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Auditing program administrator partners
- Working closely with both the internal Underwriting team in addition to external Program Administrators/MGAs
- Assisting with underwriting guidelines
- Coordinating program audits and producing audit reports
- Facilitating meetings with internal and external participants
- Ad hoc portfolio management projects and analysis
The Senior Underwriter should have the following skills:
- 5+ years of Commercial Underwriting/Insurance experience - Property, GL and Auto is a MUST
- Strong Technical Ability
- Ability to effectively communicate with experienced program managers and senior underwriters, in addition to the Product Leads, Accounting, Claims, Actuarial, IT, etc.
- Willingness to travel to assigned Program Administrator location
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience
