Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development of cutting-edge NLP models and algorithms for chatbot systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to define and implement NLP strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and Chatbot technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, and evaluate their potential applications for our organisation.
- Design and implement scalable and efficient NLP architectures to process and understand natural language input from users.
- Optimize and fine-tune existing NLP models to improve their accuracy, performance, and response time.
- Conduct research and experiments to explore new approaches, techniques, and datasets to enhance our chatbot's conversational capabilities.
- Work closely with data engineers to gather, clean, and preprocess data for training NLP models.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of NLP evaluation metrics and benchmarks to assess the performance and quality of the chatbot system.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior NLP engineers, sharing your expertise and knowledge in Chatbot technologies.
- Collaborate with product teams to identify user requirements and ensure the chatbot system meets the needs of end-users effectively.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to the improvement of software engineering practices, and ensure high-quality code development and documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant domain is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years working as an NLP Engineer, with a focus on Chatbot development.
- Strong expertise in natural language processing techniques and algorithms, including but not limited to tokenization, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, intent recognition, and dialogue management.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and experience working with NLP libraries and frameworks such as NLTK, spaCy, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience with state-of-the-art Chatbot frameworks and technologies, such as Transformers, BERT, GPT, or similar models.
- Solid knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, and neural networks commonly used in NLP tasks.
- Experience with large-scale data processing, data mining, and distributed computing frameworks like Hadoop or Spark.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience deploying NLP models in a cloud environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex NLP challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
