Senior Tax Associate

Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Associate will play a key role in corporate tax compliance, tax provision, and planning initiatives. The role will involve collaboration across departments and external advisors, supporting the company's tax reporting obligations, financial audits, and strategic tax planning, including M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance
Support preparation of corporate tax filings, including federal, state, local, and foreign returns.
Assist with premium tax filings and policyholder tax reporting processes.
Ensure compliance with tax withholding and information reporting requirements.
Coordinate with third-party tax advisors on specific compliance functions.
Tax Provision & Reporting
Assist in preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions (current and deferred) for both GAAP and statutory reporting.
Support internal and external financial reporting of tax-related matters.
Collaborate on tax-related aspects of regulatory audits and financial statement reviews.
Tax Research & Special Projects
Monitor changes in tax law and regulations and assist leadership on tax planning strategies.
Participate in ad hoc initiatives, such as M&A tax analysis, restructuring support, and E&P calculations.
Respond to inquiries from federal, state, and local tax authorities.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of tax experience, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry
Experience with life insurance taxation is a strong plus
Strong Excel skills required; familiarity with tax software such as OneSource is a plus
Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field required
CPA designation preferred
