Our client, a leading company in the shipping industry, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their legal and compliance department to provide legal support and risk management services to the Group and associated entities. You will be working closely with the General Counsel, executive offices and functional departments on a wide range of day-to-day legal issues.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to all areas of the Group's business, including but not limited to reviewing, advising and negotiating a range of commercial contracts such as service agreements, supplier agreements, confidentiality agreements and more
- Assisted on variety of disputes related to charter parties, various finance transactions that may include JVs and Capital Market transitions
- Legal support for the establishment of new foreign subsidiaries
- Assisting with KYC, compliance processes as well as various aspect of company secretarial work
- Reviewing and assessing current legal processes, structures and procedures
Key Skills:
- Qualification as a practising lawyer in England & Wales or Singapore
- At least 4 PQE working at a reputable law firm or international business with relevant shipping experience
- Ability to work as a team and demonstrate a self-starting attitude
- Proactive and demonstrate the ability to understand and identify legal issues to develop proposal
