Financial Analyst
About the Role:
A newly launched insurance holding company is looking for a Financial Analyst to support its growing finance function. This role is ideal for someone with accounting or FP&A experience who is ready to dive into complex data processes, business analytics and reinsurance support.
You'll be a key member of the finance team, taking on critical reporting and reconciliation work that enables more strategic analysis and decision-making. This is a highly visible role with strong growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Data Preparation & Reconciliation
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for insurance entities and management reporting
- Prepare monthly premium, loss, and commission entries
- Validate claims reporting and escrow account activity
- Prepare reporting schedules and dashboards for senior management and board reporting
Reinsurance Support
- Maintain reinsurance billing and inventory maintenance
- Reconcile reinsurance data inputs and help prepare supporting schedules
Reporting & Analytics Evolution
- Support large data pulls and manipulate raw data into usable insights for finance leadership
- Perform routine data reconciliations and investigate any changes that occur
- Assist with testing of automated systems prior to their release
- Establish new Excel reporting templates as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Several years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or insurance operations
- Prior exposure to P&C insurance preferred; experience with reinsurance a plus
- Excel familiarity (PivotTables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP)
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills
