Jnr DevOps Engineer - Azure/.Net (Initially hybrid moving to full remote)
This position will be part of an agile development team building and working on defect resolution, feature enhancements and new applications as part of large-scale software systems. This position will be focused on facilitating build, release and environment orchestration processes for the development and infrastructure teams. It will provide exposure to working with the various tools, technologies, patterns, and practices of releasing and supporting enterprise software systems. These duties will be performed under the guidance and supervision of the Manager, Application Support.
Essential Functions
- Review and understand existing software systems and applications (Azure/.Net)
- Document and present continuous integration and build plans
- Document and present continuous deployment plans
- Manage access and development flow in version control systems
- Coordinate access to shared environments with multiple project teams
- Document and present evidence of software changes to support change governance
- Develop and maintain reporting around the delivery process for software and systems Knowledge,
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to use one or more CI/CD management platforms
- Azure Cloud and knowledge of .Net Applications
- Ability to understand and communicate SDLC principles
- Ability to understand and communicate common software architectural components, and their deployment and operation (examples, Web Applications, Web Services, Databases, etc.)
- Ability to understand and communicate common concepts of version control systems
- Ability to design and present clear development plans for executing changes to software systems
- Ability to implement infrastructure as code
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
- Attention to detail, and ability to identify problems
- Ability to work with Software Developers and Infrastructure Engineer to understand the requirements of assigned work
