Job Vacancy: IT Engineer
Location: Office-based in Amsterdam
Your day to day:
Whether you start your day from home or enjoy your morning coffee in our office garden, your daily tasks will remain consistent. Here are your key responsibilities:
- Incident and Problem Management: Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues, implementing structural fixes. Communicate directly with users (Traders, Credit/Market Risk Managers) in Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York, and Singapore.
- Level-2 Support: Assist in deploying and managing applications/stacks in production, including participating in an on-call rotation scheme.
- Automation: Identify and implement opportunities to automate testing of features, performance, security, deployments, monitoring, and more, which is crucial for Operations Engineers.
- Data Improvement: Enhance data by (re)configuring new and existing products, reports, and processes.
- Technical Expertise: Understand the technology stack on which the application runs and its role in the overall process chain.
- Tooling and Scripting: Develop, enhance, and maintain tools and scripts to automate repetitive or error-prone tasks using appropriate Event Alerts.
- Testing and Change Management: Perform functional testing and change management to ensure safe transitions from Test to Acceptance and Production environments.
- Travel: Occasional travel abroad (Brussels).
What you'll bring to the team:
Experience:
- Financial knowledge of interest rate and FX derivatives valuation and market risk modeling (e.g., Greeks and VaR).
- Functional incident management for a front office pricing application, used globally within the Financial Markets domain.
- Supporting end users with the application and enriching back-end databases with new products, reports, and scheduled tasks.
Tech stack:
Mandatory:
- Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server and Transact-SQL.
- Advanced knowledge of interest rates derivatives valuation.
- Customer-focused, with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to improve the customer experience.
- Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Confluence, Fortify.
- Team player, cross-functional, and enjoys interacting with people at all levels in a multicultural environment.
- Proactive and attentive to others' needs.
Nice to Have:
- Experience or affinity with IT Risk (SOx, vulnerability management) and Security concepts (protocols, certificates, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree with a strong analytical background in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, or equivalent.
