A specialist underwriter in Brussels is seeking to recruit an Insurance Accountant to join their Finance Team.
Responsibilities will be:
- Processing of non-technical and technical information in the accounting system
- Preparing bank, bordereaux and other reconciliations as necessary
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts on a monthly basis
- Assisting in the preparation of regulatory returns before submission to the respective regulators
- Liaising with other internal departments and responding to ad-hoc queries from the different stakeholders across multiple business areas and functions
- Liaising with internal and external auditors as well as other consultants including tax specialists, and other external stakeholders
- Support the CFO in ensuring that the control environment is working effectively
The ideal candidate will be:
- A fully qualified accountant preferably with insurance experience
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proactive, flexible and be able to work on an independent basis
