Head of Operations - Insurance

My client, a global Specialty Insurance and Reinsurance company, is seeking a Head of (Insurance) Operations for their nascent North American expansion.

Successful Head of Operations will:

• Partner with the US senior leadership team, to understand strategic priorities and develop the short and long-term operations goals for the US business that align with the wider Group operations strategy.
• Lead the US operations function, ensuring the US business has the operational resources required to meet its objectives in line with agreed budgets, and that operational delivery is in line with all service delivery expectations (e.g. regulatory compliance, quality, time, productivity etc).
• Work closely with US-based, and Group technology and IT resources to ensure the US business has the appropriate allocation of IT time, skills and resources to deliver its operational goals.
• Manage team of internal underwriting technicians, underwriting assistants and operations colleagues, including recruitment, performance management, conducting appraisals, coaching, training, and development.

If you have:

• Sound knowledge of insurance/reinsurance underwriting, claims and operations functions.
• Significant insurance/ reinsurance experience with several years' experience in a leadership role.
• Appropriate combination of commercial P&C Insurance rating, coding, underwriting assistant skills
• Advanced knowledge of commercial P&C insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
• Familiar with insurance operating systems used to rate, code, track or issue insurance policies.
• Knowledge of commercial P&C insurance products and tools such as ISO, AAIS and other informational websites used in the industry.
