Our insurance client is looking to expand their portfolio and is looking for an experienced Inspirational leader for the Head of Intermediary role. This is a "green field" role so a self-starter who wants to build out the channel and business is key.

The incumbent owns this channel and is fully responsible for the channel's commercial performance via brokers and partners recruitment, management and ultimately driving both new business and renewal sales at an acceptable acquisition cost and loss ratio.

    • Plan: draw up alternative working model templates for intermediary business, through working with Underwriting, Operations, Finance (Compliance) and IT
    • Plan: identify target intermediaries through
      • undertaking market/competitor analyses to understand company's offer
      • considering pre - existing relationships with the business, understanding and matching customer portfolios (UW),
      • identifying technical and operational synergies/potential, pre - existing relationship(s),
      • financial modelling.
    • Prospecting: manage the pitch from behind the scenes contact through to formal pitch: work internal functions to pre plan operational and servicing processes for each new agreement, ensuring operational effectiveness and legal/regulatory compliance
    • Execution: coordinate drafting and signing of contracts, make pitches to target intermediary, establish working relationships between the business and intermediary staff
    • Monitor new business and renewal performance against targets, analyse causes of premium performance drops/gaps and propose remedial actions
    • Monitor operational servicing, quickly identify and improve gaps
    • Maintain strong relationships with intermediary management, establish regular feedback/sharing sessions with the business to monitor performance (sales and operations)
    • Make changes to agreements to improve and sustain performance

You will possess,

  • Possess over 10 years relevant working experience in general insurance with direct working experience in managing of the broker and affinity partner channel.
  • Deep knowledge, experience and existing relationships in the motor insurance brokers and partners market in Thailand
  • Experience of working in a data-driven environment that requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base, the competitive market, and an ability to analyse performance.
  • Track record of developing and launching new products into the broker and affinity partner channel.
  • Extensive experience in formulating and executing commission schemes to deliver profitable growth.
