Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Claims FP&A. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving financial planning and analysis within the Claims department, leveraging a deep understanding of claims processes and analytics to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Develop and lead the Claims FP&A function, ensuring accurate and insightful financial reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Claims leadership team to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
  2. Claims Expertise:

    • Demonstrate a profound understanding of claims processes, trends, and key performance indicators.
    • Analyze claims data to identify patterns, anomalies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to enhance claims efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Strategic Decision Support:

    • Partner with the Claims leadership team to provide financial insights and recommendations that contribute to strategic decision-making.
    • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to assess the financial impact of different claims-related initiatives.
  4. Performance Metrics and Reporting:

    • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Claims department, developing insightful dashboards and reports.
    • Regularly communicate financial performance and trends to senior management, highlighting areas for attention and improvement.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance, Actuarial, and Operations, to ensure a holistic approach to financial planning and analysis.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects that impact the Claims department's financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior FP&A role, preferably within the insurance industry with a focus on claims.
  • Deep understanding of claims processes, data analytics, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
