What is a Functional Analyst?
The Functional Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to facilitate the development and implementation of technology solutions. They work closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand their needs and translate them into detailed specifications for IT teams to follow.
What will you concretely do as Functional Analyst ?
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit and document clear and concise business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements.
- Analyze current business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for automation or optimization.
- Create detailed and comprehensive functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams to convey requirements to development teams.
- Ensure that proposed solutions align with business objectives and are in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating technical jargon into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define test cases, validate that implemented solutions meet requirements, and assist in resolving any issues identified during testing.
