Oliver James are currently working with a Life Insurer in their search for a Financial Risk Manager.
This is a brand new role that will support the Head of Financial Risk and report directly into the Chief Actuary. The role has been created due to growth in the Actuarial and Risk teams and the need to bolster out their middle / senior leadership team.
The role will primarily be responsible for the management and challenge of financial risks across the business. This will include ensuring they're identified, controlled and monitored.
The role is split into two main parts:
1) BAU work concerning financial risk (market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk etc). This will include 2nd line internal model validation work and reporting any internal model findings
2) Project Risk / Transformation Risk - running adhoc risk work concerning the ORSA, Climate Change Risk and any other risk transformation programs.
This role is best suited for an Actuarial or Quantitative Risk professional. Experience in Operational Risk only will not be considered for this role.
