Oliver James have partnered with a multinational insurance business in Dublin to recruit for a Financial Accountant.
This role is perfect for a recently qualified accountant that wants to join a multinational business and get regional experience, reporting across a group structure. You will mainly be responsible for preparing the financial reports, annual financial statements and overall consistency and effectiveness of the branch reporting.
Additional responsibilities are below;
  • Regulatory reporting (Solvency II)
  • Assisting with the preparation of the local statutory returns
  • Support the Finance Manager to address any financial reporting topics and identify any issues.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team, business partners etc to drive the internal and external reporting.

Key Requirements;

  • Post qualified experience in a Big 4 Accounting firm and/or relevant corporate experience in a multinational organisation.
  • Experience within insurance working with financial reporting.
  • Technical accounting experience and an understanding of GAAP and IFRS

Job Purpose:



Our client, a reputable company in the Insurance industry, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Accountant to join their Finance department. As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as providing support in various financial analysis activities.






Roles & Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and submit financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data and information.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Participate in audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support in the development and implementation of internal controls.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.





Key Skills:



  • Strong knowledge and experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software/systems.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Prior experience as an External Auditor or Reinsurance Accountant would be advantageous.
