Title: Data Migration Specialist (HCM/HRIS)
Location: Fully Remote (US based)

We're looking for a meticulous and technically proficient Data Migration Specialist to support HCM/HRIS implementation projects by transforming, validating, and mapping client data for successful platform transitions. This role is critical in ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the full project lifecycle, from extraction and transformation to validation and final deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist all data-related tasks in system implementation and migration projects.
- Work with consultants and project managers to understand client requirements and develop tailored data transformation strategies.
- Extract and manipulate large data sets from legacy systems and format them for new platform environments.
- Create, refine, and apply mapping logic across demographic, payroll, and custom datasets.
- Validate data accuracy through multiple test phases (SIT, UAT, Parallel) and ensure consistency across environments.
- Coordinate with platform vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot file formats, mappings, and integration points.
- Utilize advanced Excel techniques and proprietary data tools to carry out audits and reconciliations.
- Analyze prior provider data to ensure complete and accurate conversion into the new system.
- Assist with benefits invoice reconciliation, tax data validations, and other specialty data workstreams.
- Mentor internal team members on data transformation tools and processes.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts by documenting best practices and refining validation logic.
- Support ad hoc data clean-up requests and participate in resolving open issues tied to data integrity.
- Provide formal validation signoffs in collaboration with project managers and quality assurance leads.
Skills Needed:
- 1-3 years of experience working with HRIS, payroll, or HCM systems (e.g., UKG, ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Ceridian, etc.).
- Direct experience migrating data from one platform to another.
- Advanced Excel skills with a strong understanding of formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data manipulation techniques.
- Working knowledge of data integrations and file exchange formats (e.g., flat files, EDI, API).
- Familiarity with system implementation workflows, including test script execution and quality assurance processes.
- Experience translating business needs into technical data mappings and transformations.
- Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail, especially with large data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
- Basic SQL and familiarity with relational databases is also desirable.
