Summary:
We are supporting a leading Financial Services client in the search for an experienced Data, Finance & Regulatory Reporting Risk Manager to join their data and regulatory reporting risk function. This is a key role with responsibility for overseeing data governance, regulatory reporting integrity, and risk management across finance-related data flows. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of regulatory expectations (including BCBS239), coupled with hands-on experience working with enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and embed robust data governance practices across finance and regulatory reporting functions.
Lead data risk identification, assessment, and mitigation initiatives across key reporting processes.
Oversee compliance with BCBS239 and other relevant data governance standards.
Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, IT, and Compliance to improve data quality and reporting controls.
Drive continuous improvement in the management of critical data elements, metadata, and lineage.
Leverage tools such as Teradata, Informatica, ETL processes, and Cloudera to ensure end-to-end data integrity.
Use Excel for in-depth analysis, reconciliation, and documentation of data risks and issues.
Key Skillset & Experience Required:
Proven experience in a data, regulatory reporting, or finance risk management role within retail banking.
Strong understanding of data risk frameworks and regulatory requirements, particularly BCBS239.
Technical proficiency with data platforms and tools such as Teradata, Cloudera, Informatica, and ETL technologies.
Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.
Desireable Skillset & Experience:
Relevant qualifications or certifications in data governance, risk, or regulatory compliance (e.g., DCAM, CDMP, CRISC).
Experience delivering data or regulatory change projects in a banking or financial services setting.
