Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller specializing in Ceded Reinsurance to join their dynamic team. The Controller will play a critical role in managing all aspects of our ceded reinsurance operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all ceded reinsurance accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of ceded reinsurance transactions, including premiums, claims, and commissions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and recording of reinsurance contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor and evaluate ceded reinsurance treaties to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external reinsurers and brokers, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Lead the preparation of ceded reinsurance financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process for ceded reinsurance operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on ceded reinsurance.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
