Seeking an experienced Compliance Business Partner from an Insurance Broker / Insurer background. This role will partner with the business to deliver effective oversight and advice, regarding compliance policies, procedures, systems, controls and governance.

We will rely on you to:

    • Act as a trusted adviser and point of contact for any regulatory or governance queries by providing guidance and steer to the business
    • Provide training on technical compliance matters where required, and produce additional training where there is a regulatory need
    • Regularly attend business unit governance meetings (including Executive and Operational meetings) and provide a Compliance update for each meeting on topics and actions as relevant
    • Maintain an awareness of regulatory developments and support the business in assessing impacts and provide advice on challenges and proposed implementation
    • Provide Compliance advice to colleagues on issues and risks relating to their business or function, including the development and launch of new business models, new products, new functional processes and outsourcing
    • Work collaboratively across the Advisory team, providing assistance/support to other team members and proactively sharing information/learnings to benefit the wider team
    • Ensure that second line compliance and regulatory obligations are met
    • Communicate requirements to the first line, providing advice and overseeing/challenging proposed responses to address any regulatory risk

What you need to have:

    • Proven experience in Compliance within the Insurance industry either with an Insurer or Broker
    • A deep understanding of business objectives and potential regulatory risks
    • Working knowledge of current compliance practices and techniques and the ability to apply and interpret regulation and policy proportionately
    • A strong knowledge of corporate governance practices
    • Strong and confident communicator (verbal and written)
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure

What makes you stand out:

    • The ability to promote a culture of integrity, transparency and personal responsibility
    • University Degree or recognised industry accreditation (for example, ACII/ICA Diploma) an advantage but not essential
