Oliver James is currently recruiting for a Senior Compliance Assurance professional on behalf of a leading Investment Bank as they go into the next phase of growth within the organisation.

This role is designed to provide assurance for the Irish entity, which offers exposure to colleagues and processes across multiple European locations, and the opportunity to be exposed to various regulatory regimes and supervisory bodies.

The successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to the following activities;

  • Design and execute reviews of the processes and controls that form part of the business Swap Dealer and Security Based Swap Dealer compliance framework, providing strong insight and value by identifying risks and issues, or examples of good practice.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a dedicated Swap Dealer and Security Based Swap Dealer Compliance Testing Program to test compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies associated with the CFTC and SEC swap regimes and applicable NFA rules.
  • Engage with Business Oversight Compliance and other stakeholders to understand in detail the processes and controls in-scope for testing, along with how they fit within the broader model, and independently assess whether the design and operation of the controls meet regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Interpretation and analysis of facts yielded from testing into fact-based assessments of processes, risk themes, and controls specific to conduct and reputational risks within the Investment Bank's business areas.
  • Clear articulation of conclusions arrived at during testing to identify review outcomes, root causes, and impact in support of support corrective actions or recommendations for the further embedment of robust controls and processes at a fundamental level.
  • Proactive management of the review lifecycle in a manner that continuously identifies ways to improve efficiencies in the execution of testing, including the resolution of challenges that materially impact progress of the review, to optimize the duration of reviews without sacrificing quality of analysis.
  • Ensure that issues are of high quality and will improve the compliance framework by clearly articulating root causes, outcomes and consequences to support corrective actions or the further embedding of robust controls and processes at a fundamental level.
  • Assist in coordinating on an ongoing basis with 3LOD partners to plan and execute risk-based coverage of the business Swap Dealer and Security Based Swap Dealer compliance program.
  • Adopt Data Analytics to use logic and analytical skills in reviews while providing assurance and identifying issues.
  • Constantly strive for, and implement, better ways of working to demonstrate increased efficiency and productivity, demonstrate forward planning, utilising less resource(s) by meeting planned timescales or bringing review in ahead of schedule with effective allocation of tasks, utilising reviewer's strengths.
  • Keep up to date on business developments, regulatory change, internal policies and Compliance objectives so that Compliance Assurance work remains relevant, timely and valuable.
