Our client, a newly establish life and annuity insurance company, is currently seeking a Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their Finance department on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity for a strong accounting professional to step up into a leadership position. This role requires strong technical knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.
The client is looking for someone to be in New York City for at least 3 days per week, however given the start-up nature of the business more days may be required.
Base salary compensation for the role ranges from 300-450k with bonus and LTI potential.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial reporting, general accounting and reconciliations for the company
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations including SEC, BMA and other regualtory bodies.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to drive financial performance
- Oversee tax and expense management.
- Additional adhoc requests and analysis for senior management
Key Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
- CPA, MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a Controller, CFO or similar role
- Insurance industry experience necessary, preference for life and annuities experience
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Strategic thinker with a focus on growth and profitability
- Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
