Audit Manager

Division: Internal Audit, Amsterdam

Internal Audit

Internal Audit plays a pivotal role as the bank's third line of defense, providing independent assurance to the board and executive management on governance, risk management, and internal controls. Adhering to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing by the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA standards), our Internal Audit function collaborates closely with colleagues worldwide. We ensure the effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework and assess compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Our Amsterdam team supports the bank's evolving regulatory landscape, offering a diverse and enriching environment for professional growth.

Purpose of the Role

As an Audit Manager, you will lead the execution of a risk-based audit plan, focusing on liquidity risk, ICAAP, ILAAP, and market risk. Your responsibilities include providing independent assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control and risk management systems, advising Senior Management, and contributing to a robust control environment. Additionally, you will maintain an accurate audit universe, conduct risk assessments, and ensure timely delivery of audit activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Provide strategic advice and support to bank Management during transformative periods while upholding objectivity and independence.

* Contribute to the bank's Internal Audit risk assessment, annual audit plan, and execution of risk-based audit coverage, with a particular focus on liquidity risk, ICAAP, ILAAP, and market risk.

* Ensure the quality and timeliness of audit reports and documentation, meeting internal and external quality assurance criteria.

* Collaborate with the External Audit team and internal stakeholders to address regulatory inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.

* Ensure compliance with IIA and internal standards, contributing to the standardization of Audit Programs and enhancing global consistency across audit teams.

* Responsively address ad-hoc requests from Management, maintaining compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

* Support and mentor Junior professionals in the team, fostering their development.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills

* Certified auditor with professional qualifications in Operational Audit (RO/CIA), Financial Audit (RA/CFA), and/or IT Audit (RE/CISA).

* Extensive experience in financial services, particularly in liquidity risk, ICAAP, ILAAP, and market risk, gained from a banking perspective.

* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements, with the ability to provide expert advice.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with Senior Management and stakeholders across the bank.

* Flexibility to work in an international environment, with proficiency in English essential and Dutch or German preferred.
