We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Manager of Reinsurance. The Associate Manager will be responsible for managing reinsurance activities, assisting with strategic decision-making, and ensuring compliance with reinsurance agreements and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Reinsurance Management: Oversee the administration and management of reinsurance programs, including analyzing risk exposures, negotiating reinsurance contracts, and monitoring claims and settlements. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of reinsurance strategies in alignment with organizational goals. Analyze market trends, evaluate potential opportunities, and provide recommendations to senior management for optimizing reinsurance arrangements.
Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with reinsurers to negotiate terms and conditions, pricing structures, and coverage limits. Evaluate and compare reinsurance proposals, assess their financial implications, and make informed decisions to secure the most favorable terms for the organization.
Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of potential risks and exposures associated with reinsurance activities. Develop risk models, perform data analysis, and utilize actuarial techniques to evaluate the financial impact and potential loss scenarios.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to reinsurance activities. Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders, executive management, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other external partners. Collaborate with underwriters, claims professionals, and finance teams to ensure effective communication and coordination across departments.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encourage professional development, and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, actuarial science, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM, ARe) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reinsurance, risk management, or related fields, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in using risk modeling software, actuarial tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
